Sunburns;
Your love is like a sunburn, warm to the touch,
radiant beneath the surface of my skin.
But like any other burn it leaves a mark,
deeper than most, scarring within.
There are times where it hurts,
where I swear I can still feel it pulse,
beneath this mark that you’ve made.
So I clench my fists, wait,
for the pain to subside,
For my sunburn, your sunburn, to fade away.
